Taiwan Mee Sua

Somehow my entries have turned Taiwan-nish curtsey of my PM. She is a real good cook. I can't say enough of that. This weekend's dinner menu is Taiwan Mee Sua. So far I have only known 阿宗麵線, the franchise Taiwan food.  In truth Taiwanese don't find this mee sua nice. They always roll eyes every time I proudly mentioned I have eaten 阿宗麵線.

In order to make Taiwan mee sua, I went with my PM to get the key ingredient which is oyster and what better place than the Noryangjin market. However we came back with more than oysters - clams, abalones and 2 of the big kick ass prawns that I have been eyeing last time. I don't know why that I always have problem controlling my urges when I go to this market. Always have to get the fresh clams, the sticking abalones. Lucky this market is far from home. It's too dangerous for me if it's just next door.

A pot for everyone

My PM cooked one big pot for everyone. I had 2 bowls before I realize the oyster actually don't really taste like oyster. When I asked, my PM confirmed that they are actually a type of mussel. There was no oyster that day. What the....... distracted by the abalones until I didn't even realize we didn't bought oysters. Of course everyone had to laugh at me.

Taste like an osyter who did too much exercise

I told the men I ate 4 bowls of mee sua - more than any of the men. Of course being male they must now eat 5 bowls. Can't let a girl out ate them right? The whole pot emptied and my PM was real grateful. Men, such simple creatures :)

Mussel Mee Sua

Next up, super hot steamboat.
